For November, I am going to support The Salvation Army by participating in their bell ringing campaign. Each year, I sign up for at least 1 shift. I love the fact that I can easily bring my children along–and I’m pretty sure that a cute toddler ringing a bell gets more donations than me standing there alone! This year hopefully you can “force” me to spend some more time helping the campaign get even more donations.
Originally, my plan was to donate $.25 for each comment. My daughters loves to donate each time she sees a bell ringer, so she would be thrilled to receive a fresh roll (or 2, or 3) of quarters at the end of the month to be able to place in each bucket we see. However, I’m going to step it up a little bit. For the 1st 40 comments that I receive, I am going to donate 15 minutes of my time to bell ring myself. That will turn into 5 separate 2 hour shifts. There are too many kettle stands that sit empty in my area each year, so I want to make sure that is lessoned. I also think that in 15 minutes my bell ringing can generate more than a quarter’s worth of donations for the organization.
After 40 comments, I will go back to donating 25 cents per comment. I would love to spend 10 hours ringing bells plus be able to give my daughter a fresh roll of quarters to donate herself. Thank you to all for helping me help others and this great organization!
